JOHN WILD

John’s extensive experience began when, after attending art school, trained as an actor at the Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre. He went on to work in theatre, TV and film in the UK, touring nationally and internationally for over 20 years. He recently performed a one man show in London ‘ Stand-Up Tempest’, based on Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

John studied Voice at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, then when onto train and work with members of the Roy Hart Theatre, in France, going on to lead workshops in England, France and Madrid. John was Head of Voice at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London for 10 years, where he taught voice and text, directed graduate shows, and directed actors for the annual Sam Wanamaker Shakespeare Festival at the Globe Theatre, London.

John also studied voice and text with Kristin Linklater and is a designated Linklater teacher. John believes that when you free your voice you free yourself and this serves to free the text. John’s interest in exploring the links between body, mind and voice has led him to train as a Psychodynamic Counsellor and now spends some of his time supporting performers well-being.

John is passionate about encouraging and awakening an individual’s potential both as a performer and human being, and is excited about working with like-minded people in the future.
